What did you want to be when you were a growing up ?
A Fireman? A Rock Star? A Brain Surgeon? Imagine you are a child and your parent asks you “What do you want to be when you grow up?” You say; “I want to be a rock star” Your parent says; “No! You can’t do that! You can’t sing and you have no musical ability. You want to be a doctor! The next day you meet a stranger and he ask; “what do you want to be when you grow up?” You say” a rock star” The stranger says “That’s awesome. You can do it. You can learn to play any instrument you want and with some coaching you could become a great singer. Keep working hard and nothing will stop you. Don’t forget me when you rich and famous!” Who do you think will have more influence over you? The stranger or your parents? Often children have big dreams but then the parents will step in and discourage the dream with the best intentions. The parent might think that they know best. They might believe that it would be better if their children had more ambitious dreams than a fireman, or more realistic and achievable dreams than a rock star. They may with the best intentions encourage their children to follow a safer career path, like an accountant or a lawyer. We are all just big children. When you want to increase your influence with any one, remember there are four words that every human being needs to hear, “I believe in you.”

In some of my seminars and workshops, participants have said they feel that NLP gives them an "unfair advantage." Because you learn hypnosis language patters.
Does it? Hypnosis is a natural state of deeply focused attention, frequently combined with relaxation and vivid imagery. Most people go in and out of hypnotic states every day. Hypnosis in Sales or Leadership is often simply a matter of using others own self-induced states of hypnosis to guide his attention and actions. In sales Hypnosis will enable you to HOLD the customer's attention, FOCUS the customer's attention, and to create positive and LASTING IMPRESSIONS in the customer's mind. It also enables you to greatly INCREASE SUGGESTIBILITY so that prospects will be much more likely to follow your instruction or buy from you. Top Leaders and sales people utilise NLP language patterns and they do so in a natural, conversational manner because the techniques are "invisible" to the untrained ear, the listener does not consciously recognize them. All of these hypnotic techniques are natural and comfortable methods of communication. They are not tricky sales techniques. Everyone has used these techniques at some point in his or her life. Previously, you didn't know you were using them—and you didn't know how to use them systematically. We hope to give you the power to change that. What the Milton Model offers is a proven means of increasing your powers of sales persuasion. By increasing your knowledge of hypnotic selling techniques, you will become more systematically persuasive and more successful. Does sales hypnosis give you an unfair advantage? Yes, it does give you a real advantage, but it is not unfair. Using these language patterns in sales is ethical and necessary. It is being used every day by top sales people, politicians, religious leaders, executives and other successful communicators. Simply ignoring it will not make it go away. “That's the whole point of good propaganda. You want to create a slogan that nobody's going to be against, and everybody's going to be for. Nobody knows what it means, because it doesn't mean anything.” Noam Chomsky When you become aware of the NLP techniques you will begin to see it all around you. Knowing and using the secrets of NLP can give you a great advantage in selling, management, negotiation, writing, public speaking and in influencing people in general Have you ever wondered why you always want the things in life that appear unobtainable?
You are not alone. We all feel an attraction for things and people that we think we can't have or that we believe are "too good" for us. Most romantic movies are the adventures of a person being attracted to another person who they believe is "out of their league." Most people confuse love and attraction as the same as being fascinated by someone. Be honest; we tend to show disinterest in those who are incredibly interested in us. Because it goes against the human nature of wanting things we know we cannot have. We get excited and confuse the thrilling ups and disheartening downs we experience by chasing someone's affection with having something worth fighting for. This known as the Cat string theory. When you play with a cat and you dangle a piece string so that it is just out of reach. The cat goes crazy chasing the string. When it is too easy the cat loses interest. If you drop the string the cat the cat ignores the string completely. To keep the cat chasing the string you need to keep it just out of reach. People that appear unavailable have higher value. We are biologically wired to seek out those who we think are better than us. Higher value means better genes. We are wired to be attracted to people that are healthy and strong with high social standing. We often become uninterested and suspicious of people who celebrate our “goodness." In the depth of our being, there lives a small part of each one of us that believes we are not worthy. When a person places too much value on us we often assume “there must be something wrong with you for liking me too much”. When a person desires us, we naturally place a lesser value on them. Most people live comfortably in "the chase" of someone else, or in rejection and heartbreak by someone else. We rather seek out rejection than have affection from a lesser-valued person. The natural inclination to avoid those who are interested in us because of the need to better ourselves by partnering with someone who we believe is “better," and our beliefs about how worthy we are. The person who most wants or needs the negotiation to succeed has the least bargaining power. The more someone wants to make the purchase, sale, date or wants something to happen, the less power they have. Neuro-linguistic Programming (NLP) was developed way back in the 1970s and is now a popular global technique used in almost every industry. NLP validates the way our thoughts and feelings (neuro), combined with our use of language (linguistic) affect our behaviour (programming).
Here are 7 reasons why NLP is advantageous in business: 1. You can access the unconscious mind with hypnosis language patterns Many people feel NLP gives them an “unfair advantage” in business because you learn hypnosis language patterns. When you understand language patterns you’ll be able to HOLD the customer’s attention, FOCUS the customer’s attention, and create positive and LASTING IMPRESSIONS in the customer’s mind. It also enables you to greatly INCREASE SUGGESTIBILITY so prospects will be much more likely to follow your instruction or to buy from you. Top leaders and sales associates use neuro-linguistic programming in a natural, conversational manner. The techniques are “invisible” to the untrained ear so the listener does not consciously recognise them. As you become aware of NLP, you will begin to see it all around you. Knowing and using these language patterns can give you the greatest advantage in selling, management, negotiation, writing, public speaking and in influencing people in general. 2. Rapport Rapport is the most important ingredient in any successful business relationship. Simply put, without it you have nothing!Knowing NLP allows you to build rapport quickly and easily. Once it’s established, you can construct a positive business relationship, bypassing the first and biggest obstacle faced by most sales people – lack of rapport. By matching the speed and tone of voice, language structure and body language used by a client, rapport is built quickly and maintained easily. It allows the development of trusting, ongoing, win/win relationships. 3. Representational systems We all have preferential styles of learning. The three major communication styles are visual, auditory and kinaesthetic (feeling). Most people have a preference. As an NLP-trained salesperson, you’ll be able to assess which style a client is most comfortable with. You can then adjust your presentation and increase your ability to build rapport and close more deals. 4. Motivational strategies. When you know NLP you can identify what motivates different individuals. People are motivated in different ways and by different things. When you become aware of your client’s motivational strategies, you can determine how you to structure your presentation to get compliance. NLP allows you to elicit your clients buying strategy; decision-making strategy and convincer strategy – giving you a massive advantage. Business and sales associates who lack NLP training often make mistakes by assuming that we all use the same buying strategies. Your client may have a different buying strategy and that means you might fail to close an important transaction. NLP will provide you with a better understanding of your client’s decision-making process. 5. Values When you use NLP techniques, you can elicit a client’s values (what’s important to them) and then link your product or service back to these values. This is a crucial step that convinces a person to either agree to your terms or buy what you’re selling. This is a highly effective negotiation strategy. Being able to identify an individual’s values and knowing how to use them as leverage will sky rocket your ability to gain compliance. 6. Beliefs Knowing NLP gives you access to powerful belief-changing techniques. With NLP you can replace limiting beliefs with positive, empowering ones that will deliver an immediate, measurable increase in sales results. NLP changes the hidden beliefs that may be sabotaging your results and success. It can reframe your client’s beliefs about your product or service using sleight of mouth techniques! Being able to change your clients mind inevitably means more success for you! 7. States Your ability to manage your state is crucial to your success. To be a successful person you need to access an empowered, positive, resourceful state to achieve your goals. NLP teaches you how to identify and access the most resourceful states easily and automatically. This will reduce the number of bad days you experience and super charge you towards success. NLP skills are valuable for gaining a better understanding of your prospect and for helping you to be more persuasive and influential with anyone anywhere. In today’s world, business executives who do not know NLP are lagging behind. The horrible anxious feeling that smokers feel when they cant smoke…… non-smokers don’t get that. Non smokers don’t feel the anxiety that smokers feel most of the time.
Many people smoke in order to cope with life, but studies have shown that smoking actually increases anxiety! Especially after the cigarette's nicotine effects have worn off. Nicotine withdrawal causes anxiety in those that use cigarettes to cope. Even though smokers may believe taking a long drag on a cigarette can help to calm nerves, This increases the anxiety levels dramatically! When you stop smoking you will discover that smoking causes anxiety. It does not take it away! When you are SMOKE-FREE, You will Be Less Anxious! Contact me on chris@chrisadlam.com and let go of your smoking anxiety ! Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) has become the most successful approach in the world; to enhance performance, and is being used by most modern sales and management training programs. Most people don’t realise many of the most powerful Neuro-Linguistic Programming techniques were actually derived from the field of indirect or conversational hypnosis.
This form of hypnosis has nothing to do with tricking anyone or putting them to sleep. It is simply a "mesmerizing" way of communicating Conversational hypnosis has the following three characteristics: 1.) Absorb Attention, 2.) Bypass the critical factor, 3.) Stimulate the unconscious mind These skills are obviously important for any salesperson to develop. While NLP uses some of the techniques of conversational hypnosis, there are many more that still remain to be discovered. When you master these techniques and strategies, you'll gain a major competitive edge. Conversational hypnosis is completely ethical. It is what sales superstars have been doing for years, unconsciously. When you know NLP you can apply these techniques, consciously. After you have attended the NLP sales course, you can immediately increase your sales effectiveness using covert hypnosis. Chris Adlam is a master NLP practitioner and he will be training sales people to use NLP to improve their results in Cape Town on the 11th and 12th of August 2016. Hypnosis has existed since; humans have been intentionally trying to alter our states of minds. Trance can be induced be dance, mediation, pray and hypnosis. We danced around fires and told captivating stories to increase our awareness and change our consciousness.
Hypnosis is not mind control. Hypnosis is not magical or mystical. Hypnosis is a state of learning and it feels good. Hypnosis is a state of focused attention and reduced peripheral awareness allowing the unconscious mind to sensitive to suggestion. Hypnosis allows us to access an altered state of mind or trance, increasing levels of awareness. A state of hypnosis is when your attention is focused, allowing information to bypass the critical factor and stimulate the unconscious mind. . Hypnosis is a natural state that we go in and out of all the time. During hypnosis, a person can concentrate intensely on a specific thought or memory, while increasing their awareness, eliminating sources of distraction, allowing the Hypnotised person is sensitive to suggestions. Hypnosis is usually induced by a procedure known as a hypnotic induction involving a series of preliminary instructions and suggestions. The use of hypnotism for therapeutic purposes is referred to as "hypnotherapy", while its use as a form of entertainment for an audience is known as "stage hypnosis". In hypnotherapy, hypnosis is used for phobias, anxiety, sexual problems, alcoholism, smoking control, speech disorders, weight control, chronic pain, age regression therapy, self-esteem/ego strengthening, memory/concentration improvement and forensic work. We slip from conscious to unconscious behaviour throughout the day. You might have driven your car and arrived at your destination without being consciously aware of how you got there. Have you watched movies or read a book and had an emotional response as if the experience was real? A state of hypnosis is when your attention is focused, allowing information to bypass the critical factor and stimulate the unconscious mind. . Hypnosis is a natural state that we go in and out of all the time. Have you ever parked your car and forgot where you parked it because you were in a induced trance? Your unconscious mind parked the car while you conscious mind was solving the world problems. Hypnosis is not sleep. When you are hypnotised, you are aware of your surroundings, unlike when you are sleeping. Your conscious mind may disappear for a while, while your unconscious becomes sensitive and highly alert. It can be easier to go into trance when you are relaxed, but this does not mean you are asleep. A person can be hypnotised with their eyes wide open! When you are hypnotised you will become more aware and can hear everything. Your awareness increases under hypnosis, it does not decrease as commonly believed. You will not forget everything! You will be aware of your experience and enjoy the ride. Many people love to be hypnotised because it feels great. The hypnotist guides you through an experience. The primary directive of the unconscious mind is to protect you and you will not reveal your darkest secrets. Your secrets will remain your secrets because only you have access to the content while the hypnotist only guides the process. . You will not get stuck in hypnosis, although many people would like to stay in the state of hypnosis because it feels wonderful, but they will all return to an awaken consciousness. The experience of a hypnotic trance, may feel vaguely familiar, to when you were absorbed or, lost in thought. Meditation is a state of trance without being guided direction, you experience in hypnosis. A Hypnotic experience is , a metaphorical journey inside your mind or imagination. The power of hypnosis is your ability to harness the power of your unconscious mind, without the restrictions of the critical conscious mind. In a state of trance or hypnosis you can make dramatic positive changes to your life. Remember, that you cannot be hypnotized against your will; it works only if you agree to let it happen. How curious are you about taking a journey and exploring the hidden treasures of your mind, allowing you to be the best that you can be? |
